TV shows spur interest in storage-locker sales

Quote:
With the start of a couple new television shows, buying delinquent storage lockers is more popular than ever.

“Storage Wars” on A&E and “Auction Hunters” on Spike have piqued people’s interest in buying repossessed storage units.

So who buys storage units and how do they become repossessed?

“At our facility we have auctions twice a year. One in the spring and one in the fall,” said bookkeeper Cindy Stence, of EZ Storage in Mt. Pleasant.

“At that time, anybody that is behind anywhere from two months on (will have their locker auctioned off.)”

Companies can’t just go and auction off lockers. There is a lengthy two- month process that has to take place in order for that to happen.
